San Francisco Dentist Busted in NY Pot Sting
A San Francisco dentist who openly advocated about the importance of good dental hygiene among marijuana smokers has apparently taken his advocacy a bit to far.
Jerome Weitz, 63, who has been working in San Francisco since 1982 and ran a popular dental office within the Mission district was arrested in a Yonkers, N.Y. apartment this week after allegedly being in possession of more than $10,000 cash and on his way to receive payment for a large shipment of marijuana, according to court documents. Now that’s something you can floss with.

Weitz was apparently busted after exchanging texts with his dealers. Which gives credence to all the times your dealer spoke in code and told you never to say specifically what you wanted.
According to documents obtained by NBC Bay Area, Weitz was arrested by the Narcotic Borough Manhattan North. A total of 11 “vacuum sealed plastic bags” weighing about ten pounds were recovered from a duffle bag in the living room where the dentist was staying. If you have no concept what that might look like check this shit out:

That’s a lot of broccoli.
Ironically, or rather not surprisingly, Weitz’s son, Joshua Weitz, was arrested last year on marijuana charges, and is currently behind bars, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The newspaper also reported that authorities believe the elder Weitz stepped in to take over the cross-country marijuana operation after his son was sentenced to one year in jail. Or perhaps, as KushCa is speculating, the elder Weitz was simply trying to get enough money to get his kid the second chance that a felony record would most certainly have taken away.
The elder Weitz was being held Thursday afternoon, or October 29th 2015 on $75,000 bail in a New York City jail, charged with criminal sale of marijuana and conspiracy, prosecutors said.
Weitz apparently became the target of a New York City police undercover investigation when a man he was allegedly selling pot too, Rodolfo Bastardo, was arrested with bags of weed hidden in a locker, court documents said. Weed dealing ethos states that if the person you sell weed to gets popped there is a good chance you will be snitched or ratted on in order for them to avoid a hard time. More than likely, however, the pair were simply sloppy.
In a very late attempt at damage control, the elder Weitz’s dental website, which features a video that discusses the importance of brushing your teeth if you are a regular cannabis user, has been marked private and unavailable for viewing.
If Jerome Weitz was your dentist, I highly recommend you call 1-800-DENTIST as he will more than likely NOT be fixing your smile anytime soon.
