New Cannabis Toothpaste Won’t Make Your Teeth Go To Pot

A couple studies came out recently that pretty much surmised cannabis users are a trifling group. It seems we can’t manage and maintain healthy relationships, hold down a job or aspire to higher education. And to make matters worse, our breath apparently stinks. So not only are we unemployable, no one wants to stand closely to us for any length of time.

I’m calling BS on one of these studies, as I know many gainfully employed cannabis users and many unemployed non-cannabis users. My opinion is that it all depends on someone’s personal motivation.

But what about that the funky teeth part? Is there some truth to that?

Well, any type of smoke is going to damage the integrity of your teeth. Researchers have long known that cigarette smoking has been associated with a higher risk of gum disease, so it’s no surprise that there might be a link to marijuana use and periodontal disease. A study came out recently which pretty much confirmed this.

But unlike tobacco, there’s a solution to potential periodontal problems resulting from heavy cannabis use and that’s to brush with cannabis. And the beautiful thing is you can make your own.

You may have heard about coconut oil and how good it is for your teeth. Originating from a practice used in Ayurvedic medicine, the process involves swishing around the oil in your mouth for roughly 10-20 minutes–benefiting the user in a multitude of ways.

But what’s even better than coconut oil?  Cannabis infused coconut oil

AXIM Biotechnologies, a company in New York, just released a line of mouthwash and toothpaste that are infused with such oils. You can’t get high with the stuff, as it doesn’t contain the psychoactive properties of cannabis, better known as THC, but rather CBG–  a non-psychoactive cannabinoid.

Cannabis infused oil improves everything from bad breath to extra bacteria in the body. Similarly, it’s great for whitening your teeth, preventing tooth decay, acne and heart disease while giving your immune system a boost while enhancing your complexion.

And the best thing? You can make cannabis toothpaste at home!

  • 3 Tbsp. Organic Baking Soda
  • 3 Tbsp. of Cannabis-infused Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tsp. of peppermint oil drops
  • 2 Tsp. of glycerin
  • A small amount of stevia or Xylitol

All you have to do to create your own cannabis-infused toothpaste is mix the ingredients together and use just like your typical store-bought brand. That’s all it takes!

Remember, not only can cannabinoids pull out toxins, they can also reduce swelling, inflammation, and more!
