Here at KushCA, we are all about celebrating the many passionate and brave souls forging paths in the Bay Area’s ever-expanding cannabis industry. This month we are featuring Nick Gavin, Co-owner of one of KushCA’s favorite medical marijuana dispensaries, Herbal Relief Collective:
When and how did you begin working for Herbal Relief?
I worked with Rich at another delivery service that was run unethically. When I heard Rich was starting his own collective, I knew I wanted to be a part of it after working closely with him for a long time.
What do you like most about working with Herbal Relief?
It’s great to see the benefits cannabis brings people in our collective. Although many people regard cannabis as being recreational, I know from experience it is more therapeutic than anything else.
In what ways do you feel that Herbal Relief stands out in the Cannabis Industry?
We are a grassroots organization wholly dependent on patients’ rights to access affordable and high-quality medicine. Our collective is representative of the cannabis community in the bay area and we are very proud to maintain the highest standards possible while still remaining affordable for our patients.
What do you envision for the future of the cannabis industry?
I see this industry becoming highly incorporated like many other industries in the United States, which is very unfortunate. California’s present medical system is the best in the country because it is not yet trapped by red tape and other measures set forth to prevent personable access to medicine.
What are some of your favorite hobbies? / What do you do “for fun”?
I paint in the impressionist style, make political art and write music
How does medical marijuana personally benefit you?
I’ve never needed the aid of any heavy pharmaceuticals and I believe it’s thanks to my moderate usage of cannabis.
What is your biggest accomplishment in the past 5 years?
I made a big career change into this industry that has not only changed my life and that of my family for the better, but also the lives of the people around me.
Sativa, Indica or Hybrids?
Favorite method of consuming cannabis?
Electric dab pens and a good old fashioned doobie
