The time is almost here folks. On November 8th, 2016, all residents of our great state of California (at least those who aren’t convicted felons— mmhmm) will be able to vote (for the 2nd time in 10 years no less) on the monumental decision to legalize the recreational use of Cannabis through the Adult Use of Marijuana Act.
Following in the footsteps of states such as Colorado and Oregon, this passing would ensure that the state brings in anywhere between 1-2 BILLION dollars in additional revenue. Ask anyone who lives and works in the Golden State and they will tell you–WE NEED THE MONEY. Such a proposition would generate millions of dollars for California’s schools, youth programs, and environmental protection, among a litany of other uses.
If you aren’t registered to vote, do so now. If you’re reading this and you identify as Black/African-American and you’re not registered, well let’s just put it this way: 52 years ago your ass wasn’t even legally allowed to vote. So yeah, get out there and make change happen.
